Vintage Starrett 404R 48" machinist straight edge rule (Made in USA)

Description

Vintage Starrett 404R 48" machinist straight edge rule in good condition. This tempered steel rule is approx 1/8" thick and provides a perfectly square, raised edge to scribe or cut against. This instrument is far superior to a traditional metal yardstick. Rule lays flat and stands up on its edge as well. Numbers & graduations are all legible. Item shows light to normal wear, including: marks, discoloration, and minor pitting. There are a few small dark spots on face of rule (see photo #8). Edges of rule are straight and true-no gouges or nicks. The end of rule with the hole has some very light surface oxidation. Rule has "Mach Shop" engraved on it (see photo #10).
