Sheaffers Snorkel Pen-Red/Gold Trim-X6 Medium Nib-w/Box, Directions-Iowa USA

Part of a vintage writing instrument collection recently acquired. This totally cool Schaeffers snorkel fountain pen has the original box and instructions included. Originally it came with either a ballpoint pen or mechanical pencil of which is missing.  The color is actually maroon with gold tone trim. I do not know whether it will write, the snorkeling apparatus moves when the opposite end is turned; I have provided two pictures with this apparatus retracted/extended.  The pen measures 5 1/2” long, box 6 3/8” by 3 1/4”. The pen is in fairly good condition with only minor scratching/wear on plastic and gold tone trim.  Instructions intact and fully readable, as pictured. The box shows wear and spotting as pictured.
