heavy leather CAP & BALL TYPE AMMO CASE.
Lund Leather Company has been around since the 1980s, out of Lewiston NY.  They have made a variety of products over the years, but today they seem to specialize in fashion purses belts and billfolds.
This looks like one of their early products,
Made to replicatea a CIVIL WAR era case.
It measures about 4" at the widest and 3" at the tallest.
This is the type of case used in the days of yore for holding patches, caps, even ball ammo.
The case Seals with a Brass Stud.
It feaures a flap of leather under the flap...to protect contents from weather.  An inside is sewn in a strip of sheepskin to further absorb moisture...the "Do Not Eat"" packet of those days.
The holster has a wide belt loop, made to slide over your gun belt up to 2.5" wide.
