ring Halter and lead strap, second most used halter in CS service, (Attached is a photo of the single ring drawing from Ken Knopps book "Confederate Saddles and Tack'.)  Made from quality American Harness leather with wire heel bar buckles. Would make a great combination with CS officer's bridle or CS enlisted man's bridle sold elsewhere.
Do not be confused with tack shop knock-offs, this item is an authentic copy of the issued item, hand cut, and hand sewn as were the originals. This item has the Maker's stamp for the firm SMITH AND CLEGHORN of Macon Georgia. Macon had a large Arsenal complex, but contracted a lot of horse equipment to local contractors.
