Description
Civil War Cartridge Box with Tins - Union and ConfederateCivil War Cartridge Box - Union and ConfederateThis excellent quality reproduction Civil War Cartridge Box is made of durable black leather and is suitable for both Union and Confederate impressions. It features roller buckle attachments for the sling (sold separately) and comes with a set of two cartridge tins as well as an inner flap and tool pouch. It is a faithful copy of the Pattern 1861 Cartridge Box - the most widely used cartridge box of the American Civil War by Union forces and one extensively copied by Confederate suppliers. Because the box is virtually identical to the earlier Pattern 1857 box, except for the addition of two copper reinforcing rivets on the belt loops on the rear, and is very similar to several other patterns going back to 1839, it may be found to be an adequate substitute for many earlier boxes for reenactment and living history use.
