Antique Small B&W Photo of Confederate Gen. John Gregg - KIA Petersburg, VAJohn Gregg
(September 28, 1828 – October 7, 1864) was an American politician who served as a Deputy from Texas
to the Provisional Congress of the Confederate States
from 1861 to 1862. He served as a brigade commander
of the C
onfederate States Army
and was killed in action
during the Siege of Petersburg, Va.
This small photo measures 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. It may be a copy from the original photo of Gregg that was used as the model for a wartime cdv of Gregg. It's the only one on the internet I could find that matches it.
I don't know when this copy was produced, but is ID'd on the back of the photo in ink. I f
ound this on eBay several years ago with another photo of Brigadier General Richard M. Gano, which I still have in my collection.
The Gregg photo comes in a small plastic holder. Will be carefully packed when mailed.
Buyer pays First Class postage with tracking. Please see my other auctions. Thanks!
