    Description

    A fresh find from a local estate sale. This is a rare Sheaffer's Set with a Sheaffer Balance 5-30 Convertable Fountain pen, and a matching Pencil. The matching set both have gold trim and clip marked "Sheaffer", the set also have an abalone inlay design. The pen has a screw on cap, with a lever filler system. Based off the clip this set was manufactured in the 1930's The Nib of the pen is marked 5-30 Sheaffer's and Made in the USA. This barrel of the pen is engraved with a Pat No. D-78795 and "W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co. Fort Madison Iowa, USA" The pencil is usable with lead in barrel and is marked patent pending. A pre-owned set that shows signs of use but over all  in excellent condition.
