    Description

    For your consideration from a smoke free estate.  Vintage Sheaffer fountain pen with marble base.  Brown pen (I think it is a Snorkel fill) that screws into the marble base.  Base has a vein running thought it that looks like a crack in photos but it is not.  Marble surface is smooth when finger nail test. Base  has Sheaffer on front. The portion of the base that the pen sits in moves into position with ease, but has a old patina which you may wish to polish.   The underside of the base still has great Shaeffer  advertising, and a felt bottom.  Felt is a little loose and advertisement has some wear.  Nib is marked 14 K Reg. US Pat off. Made in USA  5 with M2 etched.  Pen is marked: W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. FORT MADISON IOWA USA MADE IN USA.  Pen is 6 6/8" including nib.    Base measures: 3 1/4" X 2 7/8" X 1/4".  Please review all photos as they are the best description.  Please ask all questions before making any purchase.  This vintage pen does have some surface scratches.  As always any information about this from the experts is welcomed.  Thanks for looking.
